Meet The Team: Vanessa Cwik
Native German speaker Vanessa heads up our DACH department. A wholesome blend of pilates, dog walking and bouldering keeps Vanessa grounded while her holiday snaps of tropical surf locations are the envy of the office!
How did you end up here?
I’m a graduate in Media and Event Management, before joining Fusion I worked at a communications agency for outdoor and streetwear brands in Berlin. As a native German speaker, I’m heading up Fusion's DACH department which is an exciting opportunity for me and Fusion as we grow as an agency.
Working with like-minded people and brands whose goal is to encourage a more active lifestyle resonates with me. I enjoy bouldering, practicing pilates, working up a sweat during HIIT workouts and taking my dog Milo for a run so all of my personal sports interests feed into my professional experience and the ideas I share with my clients.
Why Fusion Media?
For me working with Fusion means choosing a setting where we alter perspectives and motivate action. We specialise in engaging brands and consumers to grow above and beyond, which inspires them to continuously see what's possible and us to always be pushing and exploring.
What aspects of your role at Fusion excite you the most?
It excites me to understand the nuances of different markets, I’m Account Lead for the UK, DACH & NL which all have subtly different needs and trends. I love that our clients trust us to support them by creating meaningful experiences and implementing impactful marketing strategies that align with their needs.
Any trends you think will dominate in the coming year? What should we be watching out for?
I believe that future generations will continue to be more conscious and not shy to stand and speak up for health and environmental topics. This is something the world needs.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
As a PR agency for global brands, we see ourselves as an extension of each client that we work with, so therefore the best advice I've received is to be solution-oriented and always push for the cherry on top: 'Let's see what's possible'.
How do you like to unwind outside of work?
Being active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle in a fast-paced job isn't always the easiest. So, taking time to go bouldering where I can shift my focus completely, running with my dog Milo or taking part in a pilates class helps me to recharge. However, nothing beats a surf holiday in tropical waters.
Finally, if you could have a coffee chat with anyone, who would it be and why?
I'd love to pick Lewis Howes's brain. The NYT bestselling author has done a lot around unlocking inner greatness and reaching the ultimate human potential, which to me is super interesting.
