MEET THE TEAM

Adam Tranter
Founder + CEO

Wiesia Kuczaj
Managing Director

  • Having attempted a career as a professional racing cyclist, Adam was well-placed to start writing about the sport when his competitive two-wheeled ambitions didn’t pan out. He has certainly had greater success since however, setting up Fusion Media in 2008, The Running Channel in 2018, alongside BikeisBest and Streets Ahead Podcast in 2019. Adam is passionate about getting more people on bikes through Fusion, and also through his work as Cycling & Walking Commissioner for the West Midlands. He is father to twin boys, hosts the Streets Ahead podcast, and loves a good bit of cycling infrastructure.

  • Wiesia has worked for 20 years in the sports industry across event management, athlete management, marketing, and at Fusion since 2011. Outside of work, Wiesia’s happy place is being lost in the woods. V has raced crit, road and track, but perhaps her most impressive feat on the bike is completing the Transcontinental in 2017! Recently, we're super proud that Wiesia was nominated for BikeBiz Women of the Year 2022.

Miles Baker Clarke
Head of Strategy & Creative

Ben Brown
Creative Director

  • With 5 years spent as Commercial Marketing Manager at Rouleur, Miles brings a media-first strategic understanding of the industry and a penchant for creativity developed over 10 years of experience working in design. Miles joined Fusion in 2021 to lead our client strategy and creative teams, delivering projects across our client roster. Miles brings his creative background to Fusion, as well as his passion for diversifying cycling and cycling’s image. Miles is keen on riding road bikes (sometimes even racing them), but when he’s not on two wheels he’s a self-confessed geek in the worlds of gaming, movies, interior design and architecture.

  • Ben brings a wealth of design experience to Fusion, having designed brands and identities for a handful of BBC, Channel 4, and Netflix shows, some of the UK’s biggest music festivals, in addition to working with Apple to design and develop user guides. Ben does his best creative thinking whilst on a bike, which leads him to ride almost every day. When he’s not on two wheels or behind a desk, he might be found behind a drum kit. In his younger days he toured Europe in a Mercury Music prize nominated band!

Aurelie Almeida
Company Secretary

Guy Elliott
Advisor

  • Aurelie has worked in 17 countries with British Triathlon to look after athletes during European championships, world championships and Olympic Games. Having moved to the UK in 1999 with a dual degree in international business management and sports therapy, Aurelie was part of the London 2012 Athletes Medical Team. As both a passionate advocate of active travel and the mum of two active little boys, Aurelie set up Warwickshire’s first school cycle bus to help children cycle safely to school. Aside from this, Aurelie loves being out in nature with her horse and is a keen dressage competitor.

  • Guy works with the agency with a focus on growth as well as lending us some of his wider business experience. He brings a wealth of international commercial experience. He was CEO for DHL’s Supply Chain business in Northern Europe, a business generating in excess of £1 billion turnover per annum, working extensively in Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia and The Baltics, amongst others. Guy also has a detailed knowledge of the cycling industry in its widest context. Opting out of mainstream business life in 2013 to pursue a keen interest in cycling, he joined SweetSpot to establish The Women’s Tour, which quickly became one of the premier events on the women’s international calendar.

Guy has spent many years living and cycling in the Netherlands and is a qualified interpreter in Dutch and Flemish.

Jack Mayorcas
Senior Account Manager & Public Affairs Lead

Trudy Harrison
Senior Advisor

Emily Alice Valentina
Senior Account Manager

Mathilde Rineau
Global Account Manager

  • Emily joins Fusion with over 10 years of PR experience working with some of the UK’s biggest brands. She also brings her extensive knowledge of live sporting events, having worked on high profile UK and international bike races including the Tour of Britain, Strade Bianchi, Gent Wevelgem and La Vuelta. Outside of work, Emily is a keen film photographer and loves exploring new places and finding the absolute best cup of coffee she can.

Euan Cattermole
Account Manager

Matt Williams
PR Consultant

  • Having worked for over a decade in the industry, Euan brings his knowledge of the cycling world to Fusion to great effect. Growing up as a racing cyclist, Euan has competed in track, road, crit, cyclocross and even fixed gear crit races, but now enjoys running and swimming, as well as less-competitive cycling. His career in the cycling industry officially started when he became a coach at Hearne Hill Velodrome, where he progressively rose through the ranks to become Assistant Manager - through this, he has helped thousands of people discover cycling.

  • Matt is a self-confessed sports nerd who has worked in the sports and wellness space for major global brands and governing bodies, bringing his decade of experience to Fusion Media. Matt has been lucky enough to consult for agencies at the ECB during The Hundred and The FA with The Emirates FA Cup. At Fusion, he consults for the team on all things adventure with Red Bull and other notable clients. Outside of work, Matt’s interests are equally sporty - including golf (his first true love that didn't quite love him back), football (a realistic Gooner, all too aware of the heart-wrenching tribulations of the sport), and endurance sports (if it involves putting your body through long lasting bouts of pain in the outdoors, Matt probably loves it).

Anna Curran
Account Manager

Sam Bartram
Media Strategy Manager

  • A true mountain enthusiast, Anna swapped the rolling hills of the UK for the high peaks and snowy slopes of Canada for some serious snowboarding and biking. Returning to the UK, she worked for Canyon for two years before finding her dream role at Fusion Media. Currently, Anna is undertaking a Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing (CIM) which she enjoys applying at work. Anna enjoys mountain biking, running, fitness classes and enjoys being around nice, fun people.

  • Sam joins with 8 years experience in performance marketing where he activated campaigns for a host of household name brands and worked closely with major global publishers across everything from display and social to radio and tv. Joining Fusion, Sam combines his professional expertise and his passion for the outdoors. A self-confessed product of the 2012 cycling boom, Sam’s love for cycling in-particular has taken him road-side following multiple Tour de France’s and around the world on bike-packing adventures. To date, Sam’s proudest achievement is riding all of Simon Warren’s ‘100 Greatest Cycling Climbs’ - a feat that took him the length and breadth of the UK to complete over 5 years.

Helen Dick
Senior Admin Executive

Kitty Blake
Senior Account Executive

  • Helen has been at Fusion since 2019, bringing her diverse skill set to the company. Having worked in various positions at the Warwickshire Golf and Country Club throughout her 14 years there, Helen has insights into the inner workings of various departments. Prior to that, Helen has also been a nanny in Greece and the French Alps. Outside of work, Helen enjoys dog walks, fresh air, and being by the sea. When at home, Helen loves cooking, baking and a good book - especially mysteries and thrillers.

  • Kitty graduated with a degree in Sociology, joining Fusion in 2021 following a year working at a health and fitness PR company. Having competed in swimming events for over a decade, Kitty is no stranger to sports, and is currently working on improving her running - recently competing in her first 10k race. When not at the gym, Kitty loves travelling, experiencing new cultures and places, as well as cooking and baking.

Ben Chapman
Account Executive

Max Capamagian
Junior Account Executive

  • Ben has been riding a bike since he can remember.  Having dabbled in several sectors of the bike industry, from small IBDs to large brands, Ben has a tremendous amount of knowledge within cycling.  Having lived and worked in New Zealand and France, Ben - a non native French speaker - paired with his degree in Business Management and Foreign Languages is an international asset to any client.

  • Max has been on two wheels since the age of three and his passion for cycling has not wavered since. He’s dabbled in almost every discipline and strongly believes in giving back to the sport, not least so that the next generation can have the same opportunities as his. Thus, he is an active member of his club’s committee and organises multiple rides and races a year. He brings his knowledge and skills from this, as well as a young mind, to Fusion and is excited as ever about what the future may hold.

Ian Cleverly
Media specialist

Scott Purchas
Performance Marketing Specialist

  • A lifelong cyclist and bike racer from the age of 13, Ian finally found his racing mojo in cyclo-cross, having tried every other branch of the sport – bar BMX – in his 30s. These days, he likes to take things a little slower, whilst appreciating those who go somewhat faster. He owns far more bikes than he needs, but don’t we all?

Ian started his journalism career at Cycling Weekly, learning the ropes and amassing an enviable contacts list, before moving to Rouleur magazine, rising from Assistant Editor to Executive Editor at what is widely considered the finest cycling publication in the world.

  • With nearly 30 years of experience in marketing and much of the last decade focused on digital marketing, including running over 1,000 social ad campaigns, Scott helps brands deliver their digital potential. Scott has worked in a range of industries including cycling and technology and has campaigned for active travel in his local community for nearly a decade. A key focus and passion is helping create a future with healthier, sustainable transport that involves creating alternatives to driving.

Rhian Martin, Fusion Media

Rhian Martin
Public Affairs & Executive Assistant

  • Rhian has over 15 years experience supporting teams at c-suite level, super organised and not afraid of getting stuck in. She has spent a large chunk of her career at Rapha, turning her hand to all kinds of things but in particular creating the 'Getting Started' programme to help new staff feel confident cycling (on the road and in a group). A National Standard cycling instructor and a local campaigner in Walthamstow for safer streets for cycling and walking, she brings a passion for active travel.  Now a mum of two, her cycling mainly takes place on a cargo bike rather than her road, gravel and MTBs!

Hannah Reynolds
Content Lead

Matt Porter
Public Affairs Account Executive

  • Aside from being the author of 5 cycling books, Hannah has 20 years of experience in the media, including as Fitness Editor at Cycling Weekly, and Editor at Cycling Active and Cycling Fitness. Hannah has guided cycling trips in countries such as Costa Rica and Myanmar, and lived in Spain and France! Her competitive racing has been replaced by adventure cycling, travel, and towing her child's bike trailer.

  • Matt joins Fusion with experience in both the cycling industry and Parliament. He previously worked as a Store Supervisor at Evans Cycles before pursuing a degree in Politics and International Relations at university, after which he worked for Sir Jeremy Quin in Parliament. A passionate road cyclist, Matt has participated in crit races but now prefers to take on some of the most hardest cycling challenges worldwide. His most recent achievement being the Marmotte Gran Fondo in the french Alps.

She brings a wealth of experience, and her appointment reflects Fusion Media’s commitment to delivering unparalleled insight and strategic advice to its clients.

Harrison is respected across the political spectrum and served as the former Prime Minister’s Parliamentary Private Secretary at the time when Gear Change, recognised as one of the key developments in active travel in recent years, was developed under the Johnson government. Harrison was the minister responsible for active travel at the time of the formation of Active Travel England.

WHY US?

  • Our team is demographically inclusive and thoughtfully diverse. It consists of Lycra warriors, fair-weather enthusiasts, average Joes, green Janes, and everything in between - making our advice both insightful and creative.

  • We do marketing for brands that get people moving. And we’ve been doing it for nearly 15 years. This is our specialty and area of extensive expertise.

  • We’re movers on the streets and shakers in the halls of power. That means being out on runs and rides speaking with new audiences, and being at the table with stakeholders and policy makers.

How serious are we about moving people? Serious enough to walk the talk and cycle the speak. Just see our own Bike is Best campaign.

OUR VALUES

  • If you fit in, you’re replaceable. We’re here to push, pull and challenge. No grit. No pearl. If you’re not ready for that, then you’re not ready for us.

  • Being different is good. Being different with a purpose is better. Every idea and action stems from our goal to move people. That goal impacts our approach to diversity, sustainability and community.

  • We’re open, fair and respectful. We’re only human and you can expect us to act like a normal one.
