Berlin-based bike brand Standert introduces two new colourways to their Kettensäge gravel race bike

(18th June 2024, Berlin, Germany) Standert, the boutique bicycle brand hailing from Berlin, and specialising in steel and aluminium bikes, introduces two new colourways to their Kettensäge gravel race bike, a beautiful Cherry Kiss red colourway and a brilliant beige Team colourway. In classic Standert style, framesets meticulously handcrafted in Europe are matched with stunning paint jobs and then finished with best in class componentry

Handmade for racing

Handmade in Italy, the Kettensäge takes the racing DNA of Standert’s flagship Kreissäge RS performance road bike and translates it into gravel racing. Lightweight and designed for racing, the bike uses state-of-the-art Dedacciai Aegis aluminium tubing throughout. With the word Kettensäge being German for ‘chainsaw’, this bike is designed to - quite literally - cut through the competition.

Put to the test

Real world tested in the toughest conditions, the new Kettensäge colourways were put through their paces at the Standert-supported Road to Desolation gravel race in South Africa’s Karoo desert. The bikes made light work of 179km of unforgiving terrain and nearly 3,000m of elevation gain

Technical features

  • SLT CeramicSpeed bearings - made for the most gruelling riding scenarios. Featuring an oil-encapsulated solid plastic polymer and stainless-steel materials, these bearings are self-lubricating, corrosion-resistant, maintenance-free and come with a lifetime warranty. They truly remove the headaches from integrated headsets.

  • UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) - designed to optimise shift performance as well as create a sensible solution for replacing damaged hangers. It’s becoming the standard and is available in almost every bike shop in the world.

  • Aegis Tubing - in collaboration with Standert’s partner Dedacciai. State of the art light tubing, designed for racing and high performance aluminium bicycles.

  • Tire width - up to 45mm

  • Tob tube snack bag mounts - for mid-race fuelling

  • Standert Integrated Headset - custom engineered, designed and CNC’d to perfectly match Standert signature 56mm headtube
