The Brief

  • Create a public facing PR moment for World Car Free Day

  • Ensure community involvement around the event

  • Include ‘current affairs’ & product focus in the messaging on the day


For World Car Free day we asked ourselves some questions…

What would our cities look like if they were car free?

How would spaces feel when people, not vehicle, centric?

What to do with all that vehicle infrastructure?

It was in answer to those that we took over a petrol station, creating a parklet on the forecourt, offering coffee to ‘fuel’ cyclists, installing a test track for the latest models and showing that for every 1 parking space you can fit 42 Bromptons. This idea caught the imagination of press and many of the hundreds of cyclists who passed by on the adjacent cycle superhighway.
