The Brief
Support members of APPG in organising ride.
Invite cycling industry representatives
Facilitate networking of cycling stakeholders
Fusion has worked with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling and Walking since 2020 to provide public affairs and communications support.
All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords who share an interest in a specific topic. They have no official status within Parliament but may use their influence and connections to ensure that topics of interest are heard.
Since the 1970’s the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling and Walking (APPGCW) has worked on a cross-party basis to promote all forms of cycling and walking, working with representatives of organisations in the private, public, and third sectors that share their vision.
The Parliamentary Bike Ride allows cycling industry and active travel stake holders to visit Parliament and meet members of the APPG. Riding together provides an informal way for people with a shared passion for cycling to hear each others viewpoints and network.
The Parliamentary Bike Ride is always interesting and lively, new connections are made and ideas for the future voiced. It is a privilege for us at Fusion to help facilitate these rides and play our part in advocating for cycling.
Project Description
"This was our second year working with Fusion on our annual Parliamentary bike ride. Their knowledge of the sector and support has been invaluable, through advising on panelists, logistics planning and media coverage of the event."
