SunGod Launches new Airas™ Frameless Glasses
June 22, 2021 - by Fusion Media Client News
Leading British performance eyewear brand, SunGod, has today announced the launch of its new performance sunglasses, the Airas™. The cycling-specific, fully frameless sunglasses provide a completely unobstructed peripheral and vertical field of view, while a new 8KO® cylindrical lens cut helps to still maintain the key strength points across the sunglasses to enhance rigidity and durability. The Airas™ will continue to offer riders the option of full customisation at no extra cost and offers an unrivalled lifetime guarantee.
Created in 2013 from a crowdfunding campaign, SunGod has gone on to become established as one of the world’s leading performance eyewear brands. Co-founded by husband and wife team, Ali and Zoe Watkiss, the British direct to consumer brand offers a complete line of both performance and lifestyle sunglasses, as well as an extensive range of snow goggles.
The Airas™ are available as part of the Pace Series™ range, relaunched in 2020 with the Velans™ and Vulcans™ models. Using a cylindrical 8KO® lens that sits closer to the face, they offer an uncompromised field of vision to increase spatial awareness on the roads and trails. SunGod’s 8KO® lenses use a new nylon-based material that has a higher optical clarity score than the polycarbonate used by competitors including the Oakley Prizm, and 100%. The superlight construction keeps the weight to a minimum and features Pop-lock® screwless hinges, and Grip-lock® rubber hydrophilic ear socks and nose pads for maximum comfort.
Central to SunGod’s mission to make better and more sustainable eyewear products than currently available on the market – SunGod is committed to ensuring consumers get the most out of their product, with minimal waste. Sent to consumers in 100% recycled and recyclable packaging, performance-focused engineering and premium materials means they are built to last. So committed to this are SunGod that they offer a lifetime guarantee, meaning that if a pair of SunGod glasses break, they’re repaired. For free.
Ali Watkiss, CEO & Founder at SunGod said: “We are hugely proud to expand upon SunGod’s Pace Series with the introduction of the Airas™. Following the successful launch of the Pace series last year, we’ve worked hard to continually offer cyclists a product to help them stand out from the crowd – and the frameless, cylindrical coverage of the Airas™ is a style we’re incredibly excited about.”
CMO & Founder, Zoe Watkiss, added: “In line with our commitment to consumers to design something truly unique, we are very excited to offer the option of the bottom-frame conversion kit. In addition to being one of the most technically advanced sunglasses on the market, we’re staying true to our commitment of delivering an exceptional customer experience, every step of the way. All SunGods are built to order in our UK warehouse on the same day as ordering, and typically delivered to your doorstep next day – creating a market leading brand and customer experience.”
